Azteeeeeeeec!

Since being a little girl I’ve always had an interest in the Aztecs. I know it’s not really that girly but there is just something absolutely fascinating about it.
Which is why I am currently completely and utterly over the freaking moon about what I have just booked..... a ticket to Mexico to go and check out the Teotihuacan city, the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon and yad adad dadayaaaaaaaaa who cares. There are some giant monuments that nobody understands how they were made and can only speculate about their use and I am going and it’s going to be hot and amazing.
Phew.
I can not wait.
Photo opps galore.

MY MUST HAVE ITEM: THE AVIATOR JACKET

All my pennies this month are going to be saved for an Aviator Jacket!
The aviator jacket updates the current leather jacket and with it’s shearling collar it is bound to keep you cosy.
Burberry, Pringle and Julien MacDonald have all featured the jacket in their collections, so it’s sure to be one of the biggest trend of autumn.
My favourite jacket so far I have seen is from: Asos and it is £110! I am counting my pennies already!

MY TOP FIVE FASHION TRENDS FOR AUTUMN

Whilst thinking about what I need to kit out my autumn wardrobe with, I have come up with (what I think!) are the top five trends for autumn:
1. The catwalk has gone crazy for the ‘Mad Man’ look, (or otherwise known as the lady-like look) inspired by the hit US show. The retro 60’s look with its shift dresses and clinched in waists, can give all women an hourglass figure. Finish with a pair of leather gloves and a ladylike headband.
2. The colour of this season has to be CAMEL. A tailored pair of camel trousers, with a roll neck jumper and a thin belt is my favourite.
3. Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea, but Gothic Glam has been strutting down the catwalk too. The obvious dark colours, metallic look and lace will make this trend work.
4. Another one of my favourite trends is Long Hems, the reason: I can keep my summer maxi dress! ‘Warm’ your favourite summer maxi dress up with chunky knitwear and a big belt.
5.The ‘Country’ Lookinvolves the comfy and classic pieces. Leather boots, knitted jumpers and woollen skirts. All in brown, beige and grey.

Weekend with Robb Johnson

Everyone who is into folk music has heard of Robb Johnson. For all those fans, there is another reason to be excited, as this 19th September, Robb Johnson will be in London to launch his new CD "Man Walks into a Pub".
There are 14 tracks on this album, and a majority of them have been written especially for the monthly hove Folk club that he has been running since 2008. Robb has revisited his folk club songwriting roots with this album.
The album also has a cover of a traditional song "Stay Free" by Joe Strummer and Michael Jones. Apart from the great songs, the album also has a 16 page booklet of poems written by Robb, which I am sure is something to look out for.
I am absolutely excited about this release!

THE RETURN OF THE PONYTAIL!

According to the fashion magazines this month, the ponytail is to make a big comeback.
However it will not involved simply scooping up your hair and putting an elastic hair tie around it, like below:
Instead it’s all about the look of the hair before it’s put up. The hair should be straightened and ‘well-groomed’. Then put up with a hair tie, but the difference is you also secure with your own hair to make it look natural.
The overall achieved look should be: a neat ponytail with a carefree look. Almost like you are windswept but not like you have been through a hedge backwards.
All this at 7am before you have to go to work? Somehow, I don’t think it will catch on for me!
